ok so ive searched all over the place but cant find anything on this.

i have an ibook G4 running 10.5 Leopard. it only has a 40gb HD so i bought a larger one. but its a blank one.

what i want to do is use that larger hardrive IN the ibook. but i need to install leopard on it abviously. but i dont have the disks (DVDs CDs whatever) for leopard. so is there anyway i can install leopard on an external HD to use as the internal HD in the ibook?

Install the new larger drive in an external inclosure. Hook it up to the macbook via firewire or usb.

Run CCC (carbon copy cloner) and clone what is on your current drive to your new drive.

Boot from the external drive (to test that it will boot).

Open up your macbook. Remove the smaller drive and replace it with the new larger drive.
