Remote login to mac without a monitor

Hi all,

So my research group are thinking of getting a mac pro which we can all use to run code. Another group here have a linux box that they have installed software called NX server and then on their laptops they have nx client which lets them login to it and it is just like the computer is right in front of them rather than the standard screen sharing method. I have done some research but can't seem to find a solution.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
