STM Skinny
Seen a few people in the case search thread buying this.
The official website: http://www.stmbags.com.au/catalog/la...y3-ipad3rdgen/ Seems like stock should be available in America now and is slowly working its way into the UK. Here is my review, first time I've done a review on anything so hope its 'OK'! http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost...&postcount=155

I pre-ordered the STM Skinny and the Lexington from Incipio. Looking for something that's not too bulky. I'll decide which one to keep once they arrive.

I see there is a new Skinny 3 that is coming out. It provides more protection than the skinny 2.

Skinny 3 = iPad 3, Skinny 2 = iPad 2 surely ![]() I'm really struggiling to decide what to buy... Something like this with my screenprotector or a smart cover, use my screen protector and buy a back protector (possibly a Gellaskin) and then a sleeve |

I had the Skinny case for the iPad2, and my two problems with it were- 1) The flap is annoying when using the iPad (reading, etc.), and 2) The front cover will not lay totally flat against the back. It looks like the hinge area is designed the same way on the new cases.

And that's the deal breaker for me. I hate covers that dangle off the back of the iPad like that. Bleh!

I was torn between this and the Lexington. I think I'm going with this in either blue or red. Hope they ship out soon because I'll be going naked until it does.

I like the blue personally, hopefuly the material is nice. While the Lexington with fast postage from America works out £10 cheaper it still will take a while to arrive. This is meant to be in the UK by mid-next week and ready to ship once they have tested it fits OK. Seems a bit weird how they have produced it, sending shipments to the UK already though. The Skinny from radtech works out £15 cheaper then it would if I bought from England, but the ETA for Radtech to have them is a while and then shipping.. Think the £15 is worth it just so it's here, and if I have problems I can return easily etc.. And if I like the case £15 is nothing for how long I will have the iPad. |

just got my hands on the skinny 3. this one folds all the way back, and the cover sits flat with their new case design. wanted pink but its not out yet so grabbed black and will go back in 2 weeks when the pink is out.

Definitely post some pics of the 'shroom color. I don't know what to expect from the photos they have posted. It almost looks like it has a little bit of purple in it in some photos and others look like a shade of grey.

Is it actually a lot slimmer than the majority of cases? I'm going for either this or the cheaper Tecknet which served my iPad 2 so well.

I can't find stock of this case anywhere in the UK, has anyone got a link for them for me? I know they had problems with the sleep/wake function, so just wondering if this has been sorted out yet?
I want a case on mine asap really. Thanks Jordan |

The black & 'cant remember colour' arrived in the country on Monday, it took a few days to clear customs so I would imagine retailers should be having these today/Monday. Blue and the rest of the colours should arrive tomorrow, hopefuly get customs clearance by Tuesday so retailers should have midweek/Thursday. As a note the STM Grip won't be sold in the UK, as well as anywhere in Europe I don't think. |

RadTech have told me they're going to send me a replacement (and test it out prior to sending it).
Apparently the sleep/wake magnet issue was fixed by STM, but somehow the version I received slipped through the cracks. Other than that issue, it snaps in securely, is quite thin/light (thin enough to slip inside a sleeve I bought....which I was hoping for!). Will be able to give a better impression when I receive the replacement and actually get to use it! For now it's back to the smart cover/sleeve combo. |
