[Merged] Felix Baumgartner

http://www.redbullstratos.com/live/

Sure beats David Blaine and his standing on a chair for a week playing with ice and electricity or whatever he does.

I've been monitoring their website, but they keep pushing the deadline back. They're blaming the weather, but I think it's Baumgartner chickening out...

A walk on a cable across Niagara Falls is a walk in the park.

I was watching the stream. Kind of sad it was called off. This was going to be fun the watch, but I am afraid he won't make it. He's got some balls, that's for sure.

The shot from behind him right as he leaped toward earth was spectacular!

Nerves of steel. I would have chickened out and got back in.

Is there any place to see this? The Red bull site doesn't have it up.

Here is a view from his chest camera, pointing towards his helmet. The initial jump from the platform is neat to watch but I think this view shows just how high up he was the best.

Too bad about the fish-eye lens. He was only 24 miles high, not in orbit.

Very true. I do concede the fisheye lens makes it look like he was higher up. But he could still see quite far regardless.

Now I gotta go buy me an astronaut costume at Target so I can be next in line to do the jump!
