Why doesn't hotmail work on the iphone 5?

So I just bought an iPhone 5 and tried setting up all my emails in one location in the mail app. The only email that doesn't seem to work is hotmail. I've looked online and set it up on exchange, but no dice. It's an edu hotmail. Any advice? I see instructions for iOS 5 but ios6 doesn't seem to work for hotmail

Mine works fine.

Set up as exchange with m.hotmail.com as server

You need to use the "Outlook" option when you set up your account on iOS. MS changed the service to "Outlook" instead of "Hotmail".
