MBP with Thunderbolt vs new iMac
I am considering a new computer... What should I go with and why? How do they compare to each other?
1. 2012 Classic MacBook Pro with and a 27'' Apple Thunderbolt Display. 2. 2012 27" iMac. |

Do you know you are in the Mac Pro subforum?
With that said, I would go with the MacBook Pro because of the portability when you need it. |

wrong category?
But if I was concerned with performance, the iMac will support more ram and fusion drive. And has higher performance CPU and GPU available. Of course, the iMacs arent available yet. So its hard to say with certainty what it will be configurable with until November. er, December? The MBP will be more than enough for a lot of users, but some will hit a ceiling on a laptop due to it just not being as practical for a heavily augmented desktop usage with lots of peripherals. |
