MacBook Air Lion. Viewing photos problem

I have been having this annoying problem with my 2011 MacBook Air where when I click on a photo that I want to view that is on my desktop a few other photos on my desktop load up at the same time. This is really annoying. I think this is a problem with Lion because I don't have that problem on my iMac that is running Snow Leopard.

Any advice? I have the latest update on Lion and the problem still continues.
