if i have a passcode lock set on my iphone, and i accidentally enter it wrong, i know that there are 6 attempts permitted before the phone asks you to wait one minute and try again.

my question is: are they an overall of 6 attempts in all the life of the phone, or are there 6 attempts per time (meaning that once i enter the right one, the wrong attempts that were before it won't count.)

thanks,

Once you enter the correct password all errors are reset. Any accumulating error counting would limit the usefulness of the device and be pointless.
