New iMacs Go on Sale Friday, November 30

Apple today announced that the new iMac will go on sale this Friday, November 30. The 21.5-inch model will see immediate availability through multiple distribution channels, while the 27-inch model will begin shipping in December.
Quote:
The 21.5-inch iMac will be available through the Apple Online Store (www.apple.com), Apple's retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers. The 27-inch iMac will be available for order through the Apple Online Store and will begin shipping in December.
Apple resellers have been quoting receipt of shipments over the next few days, but official sales will not begin until Friday. Apple unveiled the redesigned iMac at its October 23 media event, announcing that the 21.5-inch models would ship in November with the 27-inch models following in December.

Kind of regretting it now they've released this but on the plus side my wife is six months pregnant with Sextuplets so I'll pre-order 6 of the top of the line 27s on Friday and they should arrive more or less the same time as the birth...

Yup. That's what I'm holding off for. After trying every variety of Mac over the years, I've finally determined that the MacPro is the one that suits my needs the best. So now that Apple has gotten the new iMac off its chest, let's see what the new year will bring for the one remaining un-updated Mac.

And when did Apple say the new Mac Pro will be released? In 2013? If so, then expect your new Mac Pro to go on sale Dec. 31st, 2013! Hey, it's still 2013, technically...

I get the feeling that Apple are secretly hoping that 2012 really will be the end of the world so they will finally be off this particular hook.

Nothing new with them. They always do this. I've come to expect delivery of the product the following month when they say, "Coming in November, December or any other month". iTunes for example was suppose to be delivered in October. Apple changed it on the last day of the month to now say "Coming in November" and there's only 3 days left of this month.

Not the first time. iPad 1 3G was promised "in April", and became available on the 30th at 5:00 PM.

They're having fun playing with deadlines. For example, iTunes 11 banner "Coming in October" ... "Coming in November" ...
