howdy,

We're Poet & Mountain, and we just released our first iPhone app, Imprints. Imprints is a location-based social service for recording and sharing geotagged photos, videos, and audio clips. Capture the moments of your life at the places you go. Discover the nearby experiences that have happened around you, and explore the sights and sounds of imprints across the world.

Since the time of the earliest cave paintings humans have wanted to record their experiences, and in doing so leave a mark of their presence for others to find. We've carved initials in picnic tables, found dusty photographs in attics, and left footprints in a sidewalk's fresh cement. Now with Imprints, you can tell the world that you are here.

Features:
• Capture 20 second video clips, 30 second audio clips, and gorgeous photos
• View imprint information, including the location on a map, approximate address, distance from you, and compass bearing. You can even get directions via the Maps app.
• Save your recorded imprint as a draft, with the location and local time intact. Then send it to the Imprints server at your leisure. Great for recording in remote areas or quickly capturing moments.
• Multiple feeds to discover imprints near you, around the world, and by people you follow.
• Imprints can be favorited to easily view later. Or, you know, just because you like them. You can also leave comments.
• All network requests sent over HTTPS for your security.
• Video and audio imprints can be experienced via AirPlay.
• Great on iPhone 5

We've launched Imprints at an introductory price of $0.99. Version 1.1 will be coming sometime in a few weeks, with Twitter sharing support and some other fun bits. So download it now – we can't wait to see the imprints you make!

Howdy! We've finally released version 1.1.0 of Imprints with some new features:

• Sharing! You can now share your imprints on Facebook, Twitter, or Sina Weibo. Heck, you can share other people's imprints, too. Just pull down on an imprint page and you'll see a sharing button! You can also share via iMessage or e-mail. (Sharing limited to Twitter if you're still on iOS 5)
• Plenty of new design love.
• Saved imprint drafts can now be previewed before sending on up to the server.
• A zoom gesture has been added to imprint images while in fullscreen mode.
• Tap on an imprint's map to bring up a new fullscreen version.

And most importantly, to celebrate 1.1.0 we've made Imprints FREE THIS WEEKEND!
So go download it now!

Hey y'all! Imprints 1.2 is now available in the App Store. The big feature for this update is photo filters!

But these aren't your average, brown, boring mess. We worked hard to create unique, tasteful filters that will make your photos more vibrant and evocative. Two are included for FREE (because we're nice that way), and a filter pack of an additional seven filters is available as an in-app purchase for $1.99.

Here is a preview of the filter types:

Notice that there's several versions of the X Pro Style filter. That's because this isn't a static filter as other apps have. We've tried to simulate the real serendipitous moments of traditional photo cross-processing techniques (using film processing chemicals on a type of film it wasn't meant for), so every time you select that filter you'll get unique results. I guess you could say you get a million filters for $1.99, but we don't want to make the other six filters feel bad. They're pretty great also, if we do say so.

We can't wait to see the shots you take with them!
