Ok so I read with 10.8.3 apple adds drivers for the AMD HD 7000 cards, so will it work?

I know its in beta, was going to download it anyway.

The point is by the time it leaves beta it may not support the 7950.

It most likely will, but I wouldn't buy a card based on a beta piece of software.

The point is actually whether a 7950 will work with 10.8.3 - not whether you'd buy a card based on a beta. Personally, I wouldn't buy a card based on a beta either but it wasn't the question. If I had a 7950 laying around, I'd want to try it.

Have a look here Netkas there are screenshots and comments that are actually relevant.

I have a Powercolor HD 7950 PCS+ and it works perfect with 10.8.3 beta. But no EFI ROM yet for this card and for 7970, so no bootscreen. I hope Nektas will be able to do EFI ROM for these cards, as he did for the 6XXX series.
