Constant Contact Newsletter Custom Signup Form

I've searched the web for answers on this, even called their tech support line to no avail. Looking to see if anyone in the community has done this before with Constant Contact and can give advice.

I have a Newsletter signup piece I am adding to my website. The only thing being requested is an e-mail address then a submit button. However, when you choose to get this created through Constant Contacts utilities the button is completely off and you can't change the name of the button, add e-mail as text in the box that disappears and align both fields on the same line.

So I'm looking to custom code this so that when you click signup it automatically tosses the e-mail address in my Marketing contact list. Is this even possible?

If not, what would you recommend.
