Apple Releases iOS 6.0.2 Software Update for iPhone 5 and iPad Mini, Fixes Wi-Fi Bug

Apple has released an iOS update for the iPhone 5 and iPad mini, bringing the iOS version for those devices up to 6.0.2. The release notes for the iPhone note only that an unnamed Wi-Fi bug has been fixed.

There have been a number of complaints related to malfunctioning Wi-Fi connections on the iPhone 5, so this could be a welcome update for many users.

So far there's nothing about the iOS 6.0.2 update on Apple's "security updates" page, even though they refer us to it.

I hope it also fixes the "Unable to Check for Update" bug that I, and everyone else here, seems to be getting.

I have the 6.0.2 update in the "Software Update"

I wonder if it will help me use my metal case? I have a cool Superman case that kills my wi-fi and cellular signal.
But I also want to JB so don’t want to update.

No kidding. iOS6 trashed wifi for my wife's iPad2 (which 6.0.1 seems to have fixed), but the i5 has been great for me. I haven't looked into why, but it's much faster than my i4, on the same n wifi. Maxes out my 40Mb DSL.

Probably shouldn't upgrade.

Well, my 5 has trouble sometimes dropping LTE when going to Wi-Fi. Killing my battery.

Well, I was able to do an OTA update of my iPad Mini over wi-fi so - not everyone is running into problems!

Is this different than the wi-fi bug I'm having where wi-fi is grayed out no matter what you do and it can't be turned on? And has anyone verified that they had an issue that this fixed?

Just curious, because I'm still being told that my 6.0.1 is still up-to-date.

Turns out, that's exactly what it was. I did a swap out for a new phone at the Apple store. In and out in 15 minutes. Thanks Apple, that's why I keep coming back.

On my iPhone 4 the WiFi is less than perfect. The Hotspot mode doesn't work reliably over WiFi (Bluetooth & USB are fine)
