Very Simple 2011 Imac Compatibility Question

I recently installed an OWC SSD in my 2011 Imac under the Superdrive.
I read someone's account of installing a second SSD for RAID 10 on the 2 SSDs.
They replaced the HDD with the second SSD.
I, however, want to replace the SuperDrive with the second SSD.

I don't want to open up my Imac again just to find out.
Is the Sata connection to the Superdrive the same as SSDs?
I'd like to just take the SuperDrive and plug a new SSD right into that Sata connector.

If I recall, RAID 10 requires 4 drives (or 8), because it has both disk space expansion and parity.

Raid 0 (disk expansion) OR Raid 1 (parity) is what you're looking for. With Raid 1, your data is safe if one hard drive fails. With Raid 0, it is toast. Totally up to you. RAID 10 ensures that if one drive inside those four fails, you're good to go, but again you need a minimum of 4 hard drives, as far as I know.

well thanks for clearing up raid part, but still need answer to my question...
Is the sata connector to the Optical Drive the same as a normal SSD?
