Question about grouping messages in mail

Please can someone tell me how to turn off the function where mail groups the messages together....

Mail view menu and uncheck "Organize by Conversation."

Grouping

Will not allow me to un check Group By Conversation.

I am talking about the check at the top in this screen shot. You cannot uncheck that?
