I'm fairly new to Macs and have a question; I need to rip our band's CD master to my iMac then burn it. I want it to be an exact copy/lossless.

Do I need an app for that or do I simply put the master in and rip?

Although you can create a dmg file (disk image) of data discs, I don't believe this works for audio CDs.

Try downloading either (or both) of the following:
- Burn
- Simply Burns

There is also an older app that may still work called "Dragon Burn".

At least one of these should be able to dupe an audio CD.

you can specify Apple Lossless, WAV or AIF in iTunes... all of those formats are lossless.

I use WAV as a rule but there is no difference between that and AIF.... Apple Lossless is similar to FLAC in that the file size is smaller but no loss of quality is experienced
