I got a 2009 air that needs a LCD replacement. I know they are usually replaced as a whole assembly but this machine will be moved to beater status so the less money the better. I assume the silver bezel is stuck on with adhesive. Can it be removed and reused?

There are several threads on the board over the past 3 months that detail the experiences of several members in replacing LCDs. It seems to be an incredibly difficult and time consuming task, and frequently ended up in a sub-optimal result.
