Just a quick post about how much I miss my original iPhone. I pulled out of the desk drawer today and threw a charge on it. It still works great. It's only 8 gigs but it's providing some good music this morning while I'm at work. A little frustrating that this phone didn't even have bluetooth but I also found my old iPhone speaker dock so I'm good to go.

I still think this iPhone, even with it's low res screen and slow processor, felt the best in my hand and was almost perfect. I wish all the new features of my iPhone 5 could be placed into this old iPhone housing.

I can't connect to a Bluetooth speaker. It can only use Bluetooth for calls.

This brings such great memories. I think I'm going to pull my 1st gen one out when I get home from work and see if it still works okay.

If it doesn't work or you find that you don't want it ill but it from you.

I wish I had my original one still, too. But I accidentally dropped it about 2 months before the 3Gs was announced so I got stuck with a 3G...

I agree, though, I think the form factor with aluminum was nicer than my 5. But the 5 is definitely a beast.

The good news is that the SIM card removal tool makes a wonderful fingernail cleaner.

That iphone is in great condition. I'm jealous. Been thinking of getting one off of eBay just to have

I bought a used, cracked, original iPhone off eBay just to have. $20, not bad. I'm thinking of replacing a crack it has in the glass, but I've heard it is quite an undertaking.

Definitely jealous of the condition yours is in, such a well designed product.

Totally agree I still have mine actually used it as a phone fore a month last year before the 5 released was fun really slippery without a case. I was able to get twitter on it! It was the only thing semi usable cause edge is horrible lol. Other then that it was an iPod like you did. Speaker is wayyyy to low, only problem I had.

i agree the original iphone is dead sexy...

however, 3G series, 4 series, and 5 series have their own strengths and attractive on their own rights.

I did an oil change on the car on Monday and now I can't get the oil out from under there. What can I say, I work for a living.

Is that phone 16 gigs? I thought they only came in 4 and 8 gig varieties. But it looks like it says 16GB in your photo.

I think they launched the 16GB version in 2008 or something...

Yep. I had a 16GB iPhone, but I sold the motherboard to a friend for $20 and I got his 8GB motherboard. Then I ended up giving that phone to a different friend because they gave me an old PowerMac G3.

I completely agree with the OP on the feel of the original iPhone. It was truly a privilege to own an iPhone in 2007-2008. The original and even the 3G/3GS felt best. I'd be totally fine if they came back with that design, even in 3.5".
