Photoshop CS3 default save as

Is there a way in Photoshop CS3 to have the default option to save as a PNG when you go to save as so I don't have to select it every time. What I'm doing doesn't require me to save it as a PSD because if i make a mistake its very easy to correct. I'm just changing text..

if it's opened as png it will want to save as psd if you've added layers.

use save for web and devices. it will give you png every time after first save.
