That is a good price, unfortunately they changed to an LED back light. These LCDs only cover about 80% of the Adobe RGB color space.

If you aren't doing color critical work it is a very good monitor at a good price.

It is perfect for an sRGB workflow and yes it is suited for critical world as 95% of colour critical work perfectly can be done with sRGB, BUT there is as well a AdobeRGB version of the screen, the U2713H (without M), still using a LED backlight. The H has 30bit colour, 3D lut and is a really serious display, but also like 1000 bucks, so much pricier.

How do you get 30 bit colour out of a Mac?
