I want to install os lion on an upgraded Mac mini solo (T7200 processor, 2gb ram, 128 gb SSD). Kindly let me know how I can do using target mode with the help of a friend's mac book running mountain lion. I have a FireWire 4 to FireWire 8 cable.

You need to boot the Mac Mini in Target Disc Mode by holding down the T key at boot. Connect the Mac Mini and the Macbook. Boot from a Lion install medium on the Macbook and wipe the Mini's hard drive and install Lion onto it. Boot from the Mini's hard drive on the Macbook and update Lion to 10.7.5. Then remove the /System/Library/CoreServices/PlatformSupport.plist file. Shut down Lion on the Macbook and press the power button on the Mini to turn it off. Disconnect the FireWire cable and power on the Mini. It will start up in Lion.
