Explain what you mean.

If you mean you have thrown a file in the trash, and emptied the trash, and you are running OS X, then depending on how long it has been since the incident, you are pretty much hoovered. OSX overwrites 'free' space quite quickly compared to other OS's. If it is a critical file, then turn your machine off and leave it off until you are ready to recover.

DataRescue II has a downloadable trial that will scan the drive, but you will need to buy it to recover any files, even they disclaim the ability to recover deleted friles from an OX volume.
