Hey there, I'm looking for a headset for use with skype. I'll be living abroad and will be using it heavily to make international calls.

I know my MBP has a line in port, not mic in, so I should buy a USB headset.

But I was wondering, is it possible to get a wireless headset? perhaps one with bluetooth? All the ones I've found on amazon so far are meant or use with cell phones. Would it not work with my computer?

Just wondering, thanks.

Also if you have recommendations, I'd love to hear them :)

Wireless doesn't come cheap compared to headsets with a cord and the only advantage is that you, well... don't have the cord. Expect a price range between $150-200.

Plantronics seems to be dominating the field here, I didn't find a single other brand – at least not in this price range.

Pretty much 'State of the Art" I guess.
I'm tempted to buy this one myself.
Shop around for prices.

It may perhaps help to check out this Skype forum and perform a search there:

Hope this helps.

A bluetooth headset can give a bit of problems with Skype. I used one two years ago, but it just didn't work correctly. One moment it worked, the other it lost connection, or my friends couldn't hear me. I still haven't found out what the problem was, os X, Skype, the built-in bluetooth (1.1 in a PM G5), or my Plantronics bluetooth headset. I suspect that it was os X and I don't know if they have fixed the bluetooth integration in the core system. I know that bluetooth headsets have come a long way.
