Dual switcher

I went from Sony Vaio to a Dual 2 160/2.5gigs. Editing video & DVD creation is so easy it is unreal. The PC sucks for video creation, PERIOD!

That's an awesome computer, mjsla. Are you serious, 2.5GB of RAM? Plus 2 64-bit 970s! I bet your Vaio didn't have even close to that kind of horsepower inside it!

Word to that! i love my dualie, editing and encoding is a dream! I love working on it, I feel that I can be more creative, because there is no speed performance issues on this baby. I can't even use my G4 800 that I use at work, it is soo slow and is a pain to use in comparison. I actually lug my G5 to work becuase I can't stand not using it.

To everyone out there that want to try a dual G5 and can't afford one, my advice is don't try it untill you can buy it, because you will want one real bad.

P.S. This is my first mac that I have ever baught for personal use, I am one happy switcher.

Same here

I agree. I just made the switch from the PC world to a Dual CPU G5 w/ 1.5 Gig..

Man o man, what an AWESOME machine!
I was using the PC for video editing and got sick and tired of the crashes, slow response, etc that I continuously got with XP. When it worked, it worked, but there was a ton of headaches too.

I'm computer literate, however I had never used a MAC before, and within a few hours, I'm zipping around the OS and getting the feel for Final Cut.
I can't believe how much easier and more reliable this system is...

I should have jumped of the PC ship much sooner... I'm hooked!

Cheers!
