Apple posted a link to the iPhone SDK download, but unfortunately the servers are unable to cope with the traffic at this time.

So, you may have to wait a little while, but the SDK should be available at:

I think we'll see the end of June bring v2.0 and the 3G phone. wouldn't that be handy, 3G for all this new downloading of apps.

Guess those 8-core X-serves don't handle THAT much traffic no matter well how many of them you have.

Wont we be seeing SDK apps on the iphone via installer in a few days then? you dont need to wait until June to make apps.... Just need to wait to publish them.

Still no joy downloading

I had pre-registered as an iPhone developer. The site went down before the press conference today. It must be flooded with requests for the SDK because I've been trying for about 45 minutes with no luck.

That sounds like a good thing to me.

(Hope the speculation about 3G is right too):D

I suppose you could make a lame-ass nerd joke like "how many X-Serves does it take to maintain stability when the iPhone SDK is released?" :p

holy smoke 2gb !!! this is gonna be good :D

The simulator feature is mind-blowing. I've done a bunch of human interface development at work, and the first thing I've always done is create a simulator for the hardware that will run on a desktop. Life tends to be easy after that as it beats the snot out of trying to download to physical hardware or run a debugger/ICE.

I just hope the beta 2.0 firmware is included (without which we will be stuck simulating vs. running on the new hardware).

There was discussion about the ONLY way to get to the iPhone would be via the store, but I am sure that doesn't apply to the SDK. SO I would suspect you cold email and app to someone and have them load it on their iPhone using their SDK.

No Wonder!

No wonder! Do those screens imply that its 2 gb cause its not just an iPhone SDK? Its all of XCode which includes the iPhone SDK?

Wanna see how popular this is ?

I have never seen this before on any Apple server :

I've been trying to get it for about 1.5 hours now...it's staying pretty busy. But I doubt they have anywhere the resources associated with it that the normal software updates do.

No complains, you get what you pay for (free).
