How to update to previous firmware? (3.0.1)

i have a 3g 2.2 and i want to update only to 3.0.1... is there a way i can do this cuz i dont want 3.1

Ok Im trying that but it says my iphone cannot be updated because my firmware file is not compatible . any thing for that?
