I just bought an old used video projector and the adapter for my macbook to the VGA analog cord. The video projector only seems to read part of what is displayed on my macbook? Keynote will only display when I run slide show. My desktop image shows but no icons, internet browsers or DVD Player! What is going on?

it's because you're in extended desktop mode, the image on your projector is beside what's on your screen. take a window and try to drag it off the sides, top or bottom of your laptop screen, and it will appear on the projector.

there is an option to mirror display or something like that, cant see it cause i don't have my second hooked up right now.

worked

Actually after posting my first thread I was messing around in the display options and clicked a box that said something about mirror, just like you said and it worked! Glad it was simple.
