Got AWStats working on 10.6 server?

I've tried using MacPorts, I've tried manually installing it, but I get hung up on a log format problem each time. I tried the default format of 1. I've deleted the log but as soon as new hits come in it errors out for a format incompatibility. I've checked the permissions.

I can't find anything 10.6 specific, only for other distros of NIX. Anyone?

you need to edit each site file and remove the custom log strings and just set it to "combined"

i.e.

CustomLog "/var/log/apache2/sitename_access_log" combined
