It will need more than 24 hrs. It will probably need about a week.

Have you tried to turn it on? If so then its probably done for. If not there might be hope for it... the battery is dead so you will need to replace it.

I guess you could sell it on eBay for parts and just get a 3GS replacement if you want.

I wouldn't get the 3Gs personally. you would be locking yourself into a 2yr contract with older technology phone. I wouldn't count on there being any "fix" for the 4. maybe go ahead and try it out and see, some people are nto having any issues due to their signal strangth in the area.

the other option you have would be to take it to the apple store. no they do not cover water damage, BUT! you can pay them $199 and give them your old water logged phone and get a refurbished iphone 3G without extending your contract.

The rice has to be cooked though. Make sure you use a little olive oil and salt too

Get the iPhone 4, the antenna thing is not nearly as big a deal as some of the people on here like to make it seem. If you believe people on here you would think the phone will explode if you bridge the gap.

Get the iPhone 4 and put a case on it. I haven't had any problems since I got my iFrogz luxe case.

Go with the iPhone 4. If your going to get locked into a 2 YR contract at least let it be w/ the best phone.

Every time I have to take a leak in the middle of an important text session, if I get one I use my "other hand" to answer the text. The entire time I'm thinking "Wow, this would be quite a bummer if I dropped this into the bowl."

I'm sorry to hear about your phone but you have greatly inspired me to hold off the texting for the 45 seconds it takes to "unwind" and for that I am thankful.

Good thing you got it working though. Like said above, you're lucky there wasn't anything in the bowl when you dropped it. Then you would of had two bricks sitting in there....

Did you drop it in a clear water toilet or was it completely filled with stuff at that time?

I bought a "Refurbished" 3GS from eGay and the camera never worked on it so I suspected something was going on with it. I checked the serial number and luckily it had hardware warranty left on it. I took it into apple and they agreed to swap it out and checked the water sensors (which were tripped) after they told me they would swap it.

They still gave me a replacement anyway, so try to dry it out and see if it powers up and take a chance in taking it in to swap it out and play dumb.

That gives you an excuse to upgrade!
Just get an iPhone 4. IF yours has antenna issues, you can always take it to the Genius Bar and get it replaced with one that doesn't have the antenna issues (if in fact there will be a "fix").

It's alive!!!!!

Good news
I put the iPhone in the sun fir a while, then I used that bottle of air spray the one u use to clean dust on keyboard

I put the red straw in all the iPhone holes and blasted air in it

Then left it on the window to get some cool air

I plugged the phone in and it works now
Everything seems to be workin ok
I haven't notice any damage like the speaker or the phone actin weird

I still plan on gettin the iPhone 4
But I'm glad this thing is workin again cause I was about to activate my old tmobile razor
