Calendar turned into "Birthday Calendar" after Mountain Lion

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion and my calendar is now empty. Whenever I try to add something, it says I can't add or change events to a "Birthday Calendar". How do I fix this?
 
Have you tried going into System Preferences, "Mail Contacts and Calendars" to see what calendars are set up?
 
Thanks, I figured this out. I had turned off ICloud and this caused this issue. I guess the calendar data was stored there and not locally.
