Hi,
I am new to setting up mail on my server (snow leopard 10.6)
I have configured the mailserver by clicking on "configure mail service..."
domain name: xxx.nl
Host name: mail.xxx.nl
SMTP IMAP en POP are enabled and running
Relay's
127.0.0.1/8
86.87.38.xxx (ip adres off my incoming internet)
mail.xxx.nl
192.168.x.xxx/24
I told the router to accept incomming traffic from POP and IMAP
I also told my server to accept incoming traffic on these ports (25 and 110)
I have my DNS arranged by the company where the hosting is.
Name Value
@ A 86.87.38.xxx
mail A 86.87.38.xxx
@ MX 10 mail.xxx.nl.
* CNAME @
ftp CNAME @
www CNAME @
I have created zones in the DNS on the server but I am not sure if I had to do this.
I have created in server preferences persons and added them to a workgroup.
this person had his own email address.
I can mail in my network. But that's about all there is
Can somebody please help me out
Take me through some steps which I have forgotten.
