I have a yellow dot on bottom right hand corner, dang! Not sure if I am going to trade in later or not, will wait to see if there are more or an official report. If it matters, it's 16gb :(

heat related

I have the same issue.

I believe it's heat related...while it's obviously a good enough defect for replacement, i noticed that the yellow spot disappears if i leave the phone alone, cooling down, for a while.
It obviously comes back after a few minutes of usage.

sorry if it has been reported already!

If it's heat related then a software update wouldn't fix.. even if my screen looked fine at first, it's likely down the road an issue would arise. This issue sounds rather widespread... could this be the first iphone recall? D:

was it mentioned somewhere that it could have been a software related issue? just asking...

but yeah, it seems like a hardware issue to me...maybe the processor or some component too near to the screen?
all i have to say is POOP!

tried searching but only found answers from people with 16GB iPhone 4's. Can someone confim to me this issue is happening on the 32GB's as well? I figure they may be from different batch because of the extra memory component.

99% this is accross all units, but it would make me sleep better tonight knowing its a 16GB issue :p

Just activated me new iPhone and the reception has been going in and out. Especially when I hold the sides. Anyone else notice this issue. How will apple fix this problem ???

I have a faint yellow circle in the bottom right as well if the background is white. Like in settings for example.

exactly, that's why I try not to read these threads. they simply make you look for something you never would have noticed

Yeah, because not knowing about means it NEVER EXISTS! Way to live life. Lol.

I thinK Apple is going to call this normal. Why are there so many problems with screens in Apples products? I've still yet to see an iPad without dust or dead pixels on the screen. Ugh!

Apple will somehow call this a feature or normal. Give it time.

Everyone needs to quit being divas and calm down. Be happy your phone works and deal with it until Apple gets a large chunk of iPhones in stock. I'm sure it will be a breeze to get a replacement.

Read the posts below this one. It's about expecting a quality item for $700 dollars. I WON'T BE HAPPY until it's correct. Period. I don't blame anyone on here for complaining either. It's horse 2h1t. So please stop posting your bile about how it's a BREEZE to get a replacement. You obviously have never dealt with stupid Genius bar people. Claiming they see nothing wrong and because their own personal phones look like 2h1t, means yours is ok in their book! No thanks.

The apologists are coming! The apologists are coming!

You are NOT a diva for expecting your 400-600 dollar phone to be perfect out of the box. That's actually not asking a lot.

Took mine to the Apple Store tonight at Lenox Square in Atlanta. They told me to return at 7 in the morning and they would do whatever was needed to make it right, IE. new phone!. She assured me that I would be let in separate from the other gaggle of people. When I told them I had a yellow line across the bottom portion of my screen, she looked a little worried and confused:confused: I was quickly and quietly escorted to the side of the store away from other customers. Two guys asked me what was up and I showed them and they were second guessing coming by in the AM. Can you imagine the potential PR nightmare!!!

Do it. Get there at launch with all the cameras and whatnot. Then atleast get a free bumper or something for staying hush hush and not making scene. :D

I'm picking up mine tomorrow and will definitely want to want to check for the yellow screen issue during activation so they can replace it if there are any issues. What is the best way of doing this, the settings screen?

I really think this is a heat issue. The first time I noticed was after my initial sync which took about 15-20 min. It was fairly warm after that. It put it back in the dock to fully charge and when I came back the spots were nearly invisible. After a 30+ min phone call the spots were back bright as ever.

The best way to see the spots is in iBooks while in a book or one of the flashlight apps, esp. if you change the background to a light gray.

Let me know how this works out for you at Lenox. I have the same problem and just don't want to have to wait in the big line to get it looked at.

Possibly a very stupid question, but Apple will replace an iPhone for some issues (like this one) even if you bought through ATT? I don't want to be stuck.

*SIGH* I have it too.

I caught a glimpse of the Macrumors headline last night and thought "Just watch, my iPhone will be affected" and lo and behold, the 32gb iPhone I queued up for today has a yellow band across the bottom.

SO ANNOYED! I noticed it within 10 seconds of using the thing after going into the settings screen and like someone mentioned earlier, once you notice it, you cannot UN-NOTICE it.

I also had a faulty screen with my launch 3G iPhone so to have it happen twice is such crap luck.

I got it from the Apple Store at Regent Street and one of the sales guys said they had "thousands" in stock (he really did say it!) but it was an absolute zoo.. don't think I want to face it again anytime soon. But supposing I did, could I just walk in an grab a sales assistant to show them the problem or would I need to make a genius appointment?

Yep got 4 largeish dots going along the bottom of my screen, got a genius appointment on Saturday, hopefully they have some left over for exchanges. Had a yellow tint problem with my ipads too.
