I currently want to be able to connect my MacBook to my tv.

I have this cable already (Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter ) http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB572Z/A

Should i return the cable above back to the store? And can you guys link me to the exact cable i need on best buys website or apples.

Yes it says in the link that it supports audio if your MBP does, aka if you have a 2010 MBP. If you have an earlier model, you will need to connect the audio using something other than the MDP.
