i have a 3 yr old imac. been running sluggish so i ran onyx... i noticed yesterday that my address book is gone... its not in toolbar, not in my applications. not in trash. i search for it and cant find it.

#1, any idea where it could be or how to find it
#2, all of my contacts from my iphone were synced with it - can i get those back? besides doing a restore to a previous backup?
#3, if it did get removed, can i redownload it and will my contacts reappear?

1.) You could search for it via Finder.
2.) You addresses should be safe, as they are stored within Macintosh HD/ Users / YOU / Library / Application Support / Address Book and not the actual application.
3.) Post your Mac OS X version and maybe someone can upload it for you oor you can use Pacifist to extract Address Book from the grey Restore DVD or the Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD.

Steps 1 to 6 are helpful with finding hidden files and folders:
Best way to FULLY DELETE a program

Mac OS Leopard is 10.5.x, Mac OS X 10.3 is Panther and only runs on PPC Macs (the ones from before 2005).

To find out what Mac OS X version you have:

I like eating ice cream with my PJ's on:D

Does that mean you have found a way to restore Address Book?
Or has your account been hacked?

Btw, the term "iOS" is used for the OS on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Anyway, it seems you need some other kind of help. Good bye then.
