I've been using Apple Mail for long time, and have a 2TB Time Capsule drive.

2 days ago Mail would not download from my Yahoo account.
I could see the mail in the web portal, and then went to download the mail. I'd get a brief "downloading 9 of 9 messages", but nothing would download.
I re-started the computer, etc.

So, I opened up the prefs box, and deleted the yahoo account and re-established it, thinking that would re-connect the dots...

But, ALL my email NOT on the server and NOT put into folders is AWOL, gone.
600 emails......

I tried Time Machine but how the heck do you recover email messages inside Apple Mail?
Selecting recover the App iteslf does not work.

When I go into my time machine and get to the library folder it won't let me do anything I keep getting the message " The folder "Library" can't be opened becasue you don't have permission to see it's contents"

I can't figure out why it says that because I am the administrator.

Any Ideas?????

thank you,
Kevin

kwdaye, are you trying to browse your backups in Finder? You should be launching the Time Machine application, waiting for the starry background to come up, using the arrows on screen to choose a date/time, then navigating to the ~/Library/Preferences folder and clicking the Restore button in the lower right.
