Did it work or what?! Bootcamp with 8gig ram late 2008 macbook pro.

i have bootcamp installed but only booted into it once or twice...havent had the need to run it natively for more than a few hours because i use parallels in coherence mode.

8gb memory has dropped significantly! i've seen it on avg for about $60-70 and bought another 8gb for my 13" mbp for $55 after rebate (PNY..newegg). enough questions, just try it~! worse comes to worse, pop it into another system :)

Need to know if it's stable because for windows games, bootcamp will be needed to give it the best speed.

anyways, i'll see for myself, i just ordered the RAM.

8GB works in late 2008 macbook

Just yesterday, bought/installed my second stick of 4GB ram. I had previously bumped up to 6GB. Installed RAM and I now have a fully functioning late (July) 2008 Macbook unibody which is running an intel x25-m SSD and 8GB of RAM. All applications are loading extremely fast, internet too and so far no detrimental issues. I am impressed at how fast everything is working now. Will post if anything does start acting up.

I have a late 2008 unibody Macbook Pro (2.53 ghz). Just wanted to confirm that I can upgrade from 4 to 8 gb of ram.

Thanks!

I have a late 2008 2.4 GHz 15" MacBook Pro, and I put in this pair of RAM (totaling 8 GB, below), and it seems to work with Windows 7 in BootCamp and in OS X Snow Leopard, and runs fine with VMWare fusion.

Here's the RAM I bought: Newegg.com - Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1066 Laptop Memory Model KVR1066D3SOK2/8GR - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820139481

I can confirm 8 gigs works, I've had it for a couple of months now and all seems stable (and fast!), paired up with my SSD its smooth sailing from now on!
You just need to make sure you have the latest Boot ROM Version for the late 2008 first:
Boot ROM Version: MBP51.007E.B05

I plan on using the same memory you bought. Have you had any issues since you installed it on your MB? Thanks in advance!
