None of the Mac benchmarks apps are very useful. The best way to bench a mac is with the applications they're used for.
I was most interested in an app that would allow us to get a somewhat accurate idea of how the samsung stacks up against the toshiba in 64gb 128gb and 256gb sizes. I even read in another thread that while the 128gb samsung is faster than the 128gb toshiba the opposit is true when comparing the speeds of the 256gb versions. I am hoping to clear this up somehow.

I know little about hard disk benchmarks, but the Samsung looks like it is quite a bit faster than the Toshiba. What does this translate into in the real world? Will I notice it when copying files? Starting up programs?
More importantly, could things be improved with a firmware update in the Toshiba or something like that?
Well my toshiba was benching faster writes and very similar reads to the 128 samsung equivalent in another thread
so the 128 and the 256gb show about the same performance.....
@duffyanneal: could you do the blackmagic test as well? would be great....

so generally said the samsung is about 25-30% faster in synthetic benchmarks, at least the 256gb version.....interesting....I don't think that there is much of a difference in everyday usage though....
Yeah I just found it the other day, but I can't say how accurate it really is. I crosschecked it with AJA and XBench and it seems to get similar results...
