So recently I've been getting the spinning beach ball quite a bit. Additionally, my computer's performance with regard to World of Warcraft has worsened quite a bit (contrary to claims by many that anything over 512MB with WoW doesn't matter).
Today I went into the system profile and saw 512MB of RAM, when I have 2x512MB installed (and have for over a year, since the day I bought this PB).
After some troubleshooting I found that both modules work just fine, it's just that the bottom slot isn't detecting the modules. I have APP, and contacted them. All troubleshooting to get the slot to work properly failed. When asked how big of a deal it was to repair, or how long it would take I got pretty vague answers.
Has anyone seen anything like this? How long should I expect my computer to require for servicing something like this? At the moment, this is my only computer and I need it daily for school. I'm even contemplating just buying a 1GB stick and throwing it in the good slot until the end of the semester...the performance drop is that annoying to me.
Thanks!
