I plan to wake up in the wee hours of the morning and stand in line. What can I say? It's fun. Especially in San Francisco. I wouldn't say it's as fun as waiting in Border's (sniff) with a whole bunch of Potter fans for Deathly Hallows. But it's up there.

Because the White iPhone 4 came out in april, and it would nothing less than rubbish by Apple, if they launched the next iPhone, before they got to sell any of their 'new' white iphones. Simple buisness.
Im looking to get a bunch of people together myself. Get there early. Have a laugh (or 50). Buy as many devices as we are allowed to. Sell instantly.
...Profit.
In the end i will probably be too lazy though. Damn shame, it would be fun to own one of them magic phones for an hour or two, just to enjoy the feeling of getting rid of it.

My money is on disaster. Those who pre-own will pre-own anyway, and Apple will get tons of media coverage with articles telling consumers that the latest phone is so hot in demand that it "crashed the servers".

Thats the next step in Apples brilliant litigation plan. If others arent making their devices similar enough to Apples, Apple will make their devices similar enough to them. Then all they need to do is pull the "we invented the smart phone"-card out of their ass and... profit!

This photo and the rumors are not necessarily true of course, but whatever the home button will like like, it is pretty much set in stone by now.

Has there ever been an iPhone that they were unable to jailbreak? I think its more a question of when, not if.
If they cannot break it until EOL it sort of loses its value though. Look at the time it took to break the ps3 for example.

I've been waiting patiently for the iPhone 5 to be announced and am totally excited about the rumor of September 30th for pre-orders. As an original 128k Mac-aholic, I feel like my 8GB 3G runs with the same speed as that good old 128k Mac.
Can someone coach me as to how I can get my iPhone 5 in the most efficient (super fast) way?

There's no way to "coach" you on how to get it when the phone hasn't even been revealed or announced by Apple yet. Once they do that at the media event (whenever that is, probably in a few weeks), they will tell us if/when/how we can pre-order the phone.
