So if I take a photo of a building I can be harassed and detained as a terrorist but this is ok? I wish I was a publicly traded company.

In Australia IIRC you can't patent something that has already been done (at least it isn't a valid patent if you do). THIS has already been done (VR street names on streets, POI locations) combined in one app.
Surely this patent isn't valid in America too?

There is absolutely no way this patent should go through. There's significant prior art of the implementation as described.
