You don't need any antivirus, Macs don't just get trojans like PC's do. Don't even worry about it.

As long as you have street smarts on the internet, you are good. Even if you do download something that IS Mac malware, most likely your Mac will tell you and safely help guide it to the trash. You will have to do quite a bit to even have it run on your system.

1. Don't pirate software.
2. Don't download things from sites you don't trust.
3. Don't visit sites you don't trust.
4. Use common sense.
5. Enjoy your Mac :D Running without the extra overhead that anti viruses use to detect.... well, nothing, unless you constantly watch porn or download stupid things.

1. Don't pirate software.

The people who host pirated software are doing so for the gain of others. Probably the nicest people on the internet. All you really have to do is make sure you download a file that has a lot of comments and downloads so you know that if it was a virus, people would talk about it. Therefore, I'd trust the Indie hackers not to put anything extra into the software more than I'd trust the big companies, who would infect your desktop with advertisements if they could.

the people who host pirated anything are d-bag losers; the people who download pirated anything are cheap d-bag losers. rationalize downloading pirated anything however you want, the truth is you're downloading it because you're too cheap to buy it, and don't care you're stealing from, and hurting, others.

if you do download pirated media/software/anything, then i truly hope that you do get a virus.

Here we go again. These threads are always filled with "Oh you don't need an antivirus for Mac". Well, he wants one - who are you to tell him he shouldn't get one? You people disgust me. Seriously. It's like you think other people shouldn't be allowed to do what they want. Geez.

On topic, if you want an antivirus I can't recommend enough the ClamXav. Check that out. It's free too.

When i download torrent to watch movie, will my macbook got the virus?
You don't need any 3rd party antivirus software to protect Mac OS X from malware. No viruses exist in the wild that can run on Mac OS X, and there never have been any, since it was released 10 years ago. The handful of trojans that exist can be easily avoided with some basic education, common sense and care in what software you install. Also, Mac OS X Snow Leopard and Lion have anti-malware protection built in, further reducing the need for 3rd party antivirus apps.

You can't get a Mac OS X virus, because none exist in the wild. The only Mac OS X malware currently in the wild are trojans, which require you to actively install them. You're not going to infect your Mac by downloading and playing movie or music files.
Back on topic...Sophos anti-virus. Heaps of awards.
Sophos should be avoided, as it could actually increase your Mac's vulnerability, as described here and here.

Not in all countries though.

Belgium for instance... Just as an example. iTunes 10 -- No movies tab available.

if you do download pirated media/software/anything, then i truly hope that you do get a virus.

There are many reasons why people download pirated softwares. I download a tons myself and has always been using pirated softwares from MS office 2003-2010, Adobe CS2-CS5, Windows 7 ultimate and many more.... Just for your info, i am not cheap. I spent a good amount of money on anything that i like, but the reason why i download pirated softwares is because people who makes the software truly rip you off. If the price were a little more reasonable, i think people would prefer to buy than download.

Why buy a symantec software when they are the ones who releases the virus and always ask you to upgrade and etc.??? Why spend hundreds of dollars on MS Office and MS windows when Microsoft is a multi-billion dollar company and they don't just benefit from selling their products? Why buy adobe and macromedia products when the price is off the roof?

Recently i downloaded MS office 2011 for Mac and installed it on 5+ system and i'm glad i did. I am not going to give apple $150 dollars for MS office, period. Do you think they will go bankrupt if people decide not to buy MS office or Iworks and etc? LOL? They overcharge for all their products and this is one way consumers like us can benefit off something smaller.
