I'm interested to gauge the initial Apple product ownership of the Macrumors community. Please vote on the above poll. Note I have specified hardware product. This is because I want to exclude software or internet products that can be used by people who do not use Apple hardware (e.g. iTunes, Mobileme). I'd also like you to restrict this to products owned by you (or your partner/parent/other household member if you shared the device) rather than products owned by your employer or school/university.

I also think it would be interesting to know how your Apple usage developed after that initial product. So in the comments, you may wish to also list the order in which you first became users of different product categories and anything else you wish to add. So, for example I'd put:

1. iPod (a 5th Gen Classic in 2006; still using it!)
2. Intel-based Mac (a black Macbook)
3. Apple peripherals (mouse & external keyboard)
3. iPad (1st gen)
4. iPhone (3GS)

You might also be interested in my other related polls:
If you could only have one Apple product, which one would it be?
When did you first own an Apple product?

UPDATE: What constitutes ownership, particularly whilst growing up is a bit of a grey area so I decided to update this with my thoughts. I would say its fair to count a device bought by your parents for the household as a device you have owned, provided you made significant use of it and felt some degree of possessiveness over it (e.g. if you had been given just as much right to use it as your siblings you would speak of the device as "my device" or "our device"). By contrast, I would say you should not count a device that was primarily your sibling or parents device that you occasionally got to play with. Those are my thoughts, but its difficult to be explicit and cover all bases so you may need to make your own judgement call.

1st Apple product I owned was a 2006 MBP 15" C2D. Then came the iPhone, an iMac, the 3GS, another iMac and now the iPhone 4S. There were a couple of iPod's in there somewhere too and the Apple TV2

I've had Macs at home and my parents office as long as I can remember though.

A 1st gen iPod Nano; black, 1GB. They truly are "gateway drugs" ;)

And then a 2006(?) 2.0Ghz Core2Duo White MacBook. What a great little machine that was!

1. Apple IIe: 64K RAM, 80-Column card.
2. Apple ImageWriter Printer.
3. Apple Joystick II.
4. iPhone.
5. 2011 13" Macbook Air, 256GB SSD, 4GB memory, Corei5 processor.

Written many a report and played many a game of Spy Hunter, Karateka, Zaxxon, and Choplifter on that IIe. Glad I told my mother to keep it as well, as it's still in working condition!

I'm probably forgetting some stuff (of course other accessories such as Apple docks, remotes, etc.) but generally this is a pretty decent list of what I've owned. As far as iPhones go, I've owned about 25 3G's, 20 3GS's, and 5 iPhone 4's.
