I think it is an 06, not for sure though. From boot to desktop, to web surfing there is a red vertical line on the right side. LCD or possible a loose or damaged cable?

What is the chance of the culprit being a bad logic board when a Macbook refuses to turn on. Battery is charged btw. Can you repair a logic board or does it need to be replaced?

The chances are fair to good. I wouldn't jump to that conclusion, though.

No, you can not repair a logic board. When it dies, it is dead.

No, you can not repair a logic board. When it dies, it is dead.

99% of the time it's a simple transistor, IC, or fuse. Or an intersil voltage regulator IC. Easily replaced by a competent technician.

If it's a power pathway inside the board, then, you're probably screwed.

A red vertical line on an LCD is the LCD, not the cable.
