Cool, just downloaded this through the AirPort utility app on iPad. I'm loving this PC-free stuff.

I just updated using the AirPort Utility on my iPhone and it worked fine. I'm just wondering if I'm still supposed to be getting the Download and Install button under my firmware and it even says "This AirPort base station's firmware (version 7.6) is up to date."

Is it just me or did the icon in the for the Time Capsule change in finder under Shared?

No mention of the MobileMe account errors that have been popping up on every Base Station configured for MobileMe administration? This better fix it...

Awesome thanks for the idea. I have that app on my iPhone, but didn't know you can update firmware from it. Cool!

I really hope this fixes the Airplay disconnection issues I have been experiencing.

That sounds like a hardware issue, not something software updates can fix.

My big hope for this update is that there won't be such an unnecessary drag waiting for things to be streamed to Apple TV from iTunes on the Mac. It's been pretty painful lately.

There's a ton of threads at the apple communities about it. Speeds falls to like .20 Mbps on just the 4s it's fine on iPad 2 and Mac book. Resetting the tc fixes it for a few days. Latest gen tc as well

Multiple 4S in house hold plus iPads, latest gen extreme, never been reset, and I just pulled down 16 mbps over wifi on both devices.

How Awesome

Regardless of my android phone, I am so freakin impressed with Apple it sickens me sometimes. I just updated the airport utility from downstairs, via back to my mac remotely. It disconnected during update, then reconnected by itself. Never had to leave my chair. I'd like to see that on Windows. (sarcasm)
Apple freakin rocks.

I am updating all my 5 Airport basestations from my iPod Touch (iOS5) in my bed. While having live TV streaming from my EyeTV Mac mini to my Touch, and compiling my source code on my MacPro using VNC.

Yep!

I know it doesn't say so in the release notes, but I hope this update reinstates the old MobileMe connectivity via iCloud.

****

Just installed the update, MobileMe functionality remains the same and has not been updated for iCloud.

Here's the Apple Support thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3377763?start=0&tstart=0

I hate having to type in an IP address every time I want to manage an offsite airport device. It was so much easier with the MM functionality. Come on Apple this can't any more difficult then BTMM!

Very odd. I don't deny it happens, but it's certainly not happening to me, and my 4S lives on WiFi in my house.

I agree, it sort of makes me think they're going to try to steer people to an upcoming device that is built on iOS and can act as a local cache for iCloud features. Maybe like a Time Capsule+Apple TV.

I just updated mine from my iPhone while sitting on the can. Just thought everyone might want to know it updates just fine from the commode.
