Claimed iPad 3 Parts Continue to Leak as Rumored Release Draws Closer

It could mean they have moved the dock connector to the long side. It makes more sense to have the screen horizontal when docked.

This also makes it possible to attach the iPad to a smart-cover with built-in keyboard, turning your iPad into a notebook.

I love my iPad but I would only upgrade if it had a retina display because right now the iPad meets all of my needs. But the 9.7" screen would look fantastic with such a hi res.
 
with android tablets finally starting to sell, the next iPad is huge for Apple. they better get it right

I will only be disappointed if they add this screen without hella better brightness so I can use it outside etc. and hopefully with a side announcement of new 1080p movie and tv files in the iTunes store.

And are these really sales or Samsung counting the 'sales' to the resellers
 
I wonder how many of these "leaked" new parts are part of the well working Apple campaigns.

Grape Vine campaigns instead of Grass Roots.
 
If TVC-Mall.com starts releasing more parts, I'll begin building the iPad 3 myself. I don't want to wait any longer... 😀

Brightness is a bitch. Granted, you can go RGBW to boost the brightness artificially, but I'm not sure how that affects readability. Further, while development of anti-glare coating shows promise, i dont think adequate products are ready for prime-time. Thus, you'll end up with somewhat of a trade-off glare vs. clarity wise, since anti coatings have a tendency to create granular experiences (Cf. Dell uSeries). That said, from what i've read Samsung have been able to solve some of these issues on their new PLS devices, but i have yet to see it for myself. Further, if I'm not mistaken its more of a middle ground between the Apple (clear, glossy) and Dell approaches (granular, matt).

Personally, I'm most excited with the development of e-ink. In the near future we'll certainly have color e-ink capable of displaying video. Add to that development in low-power clear-film lighting and we might have something juicy coming up.

Yes yes yes! Color eInk would be awsome! I have a kindle 3 and I wouldn't trade it for anything, that eink is incredible. As they continue to improve its responsiveness and adding color, I think that's the way

Have a look see. Things are progressing nicely. Color e-ink capable of video have been out there for just about a year now. 2-3 more, and we should be closing in on prime time. Now that will be revolutionary!

older, and somewhat crappy. But mainly boils down to light. Low-po front lighting could take care of that. Better color filters too.

no one really knows. but i believe if apple doesn't keep improving the iPad, it will lose it's dominance in the tablet market.
 
"a power button flex cable has also appeared" Means that it will be a lighter and slimmer iPad? I'm pretty sure that the iPad 3 will revolutionize the tablet industry with the new Retina display just as the iPhone 4 did when it was launched. Everyone wants a bigger resolution, and a new camera goes with the upgrades contrary to people saying that they must stick to the 1mp! 😱
