Widespread iTunes and iCloud Apple ID "Couldn't be Found" Outage [Fixed?]

When I try logging into iTunes, it say's my Apple ID couldn't be found or my password was incorrect. When I try to log onto Apple Support, iOS Development, etc... I get 'Fatal internal error occurred'.

... Sorry I'm not posting anything helpful, I just feel really creepy when I subscribe to a thread without at least posting something. 😎


UPDATE: I posted 5 seconds too soon. It appears to be working now... Thanks for fixing it so quickly. 🙂

It gets worse. I just got in.... ALL my iCloud information is erased. Gone. Everything. My calendars, contacts, ten years' worth of email. Even my photo.

I really hope this is a temporary glitch and it'll all get restored.

(and yes, I bought iTunes Match last night)
 
Managed to get in to update Xcode. Then tried to update Stuffit Expander and it died again. Thankfully the Xcode update (1.8Gigs!) is underway.

The outage seems intermittent, kind of looks like they may be getting DOS'd as they would have pulled it offline completely if there was a security based concern.
 
This happened to me at the worst possible time!

I'd just signed-up to iTunes Match here in the UK and completed the 'matching' process and uploaded of all my "exceptions".

I'd deleted all of my lower bit-rate songs and went to download from iTunes/iCloud before encountering the log-in error...

Thank-God for local backup!!

I cannot log into iCloud or iTunes, but I can use the same ID in the App Store.

The website still denies me as well.

It's been out since midnight when I was gonna rent a movie.

It is 1:48 now California time.
 
Exactly the same happened when Apple launched iCloud. Old MobileMe members could not log in for days since Apples servers where hammered by 25 million that downloaded iOS5 and migrated to iCloud.

Today Music match is launched around the world and Apples servers are overloaded again.

Some in this thread have written that its the downside with the cloud. No. Its the downside since Apple uses Microsoft Azure servers. Real servers don't have this kind of problem. Unix have been "cloud" based since 90is with NFS. Apple used Sun + Oracle before the migration to Azure. We already in 2 month have had more outages with Azure then 10 years with Sun/Oracle/.mac/mobileme.

Apple is idiots when it comes to corporate computing. They had fantastic server lineup with Xserve/Xraid/Xsan. Instead of using this, they today use Microsoft +HP +netapp. That is not non stop servers. No bank/credit card company uses MFST on mission critical servers. Apple should not do that either. And Apple would save money buying its own hardware.

My Apple ID seems to be working in both iCloud and the iTunes store, and I just got iTunes Match a couple hours ago. It's 8:50pm here in Melbourne :S

Hab grade eine Samsung SSD 830 512 GB per Express bekommen und eingebaut und muss jetzt trotz recovery usb Stick Lion nochmals neu laden...
ich habe im 160 Einwohner Kuhdorf nur dsl 2000... ...
dauert über 4 stunden... herrlich *g*
 
Somehow this reminds me of the olden days.

You know, when people used to use Napster for music, and have to go to Blockbuster for a movie, and if we wanted to play a game of solitaire, we looked for a deck of cards and hoped that all 52 were there and that we didn't have to use a joker as the Queen of Spades yet again...

granted, its almost 5 am where i am, and i should be sleeping, but, due to this, i had to get onto my laptop (ha, a mac) and make sure that i wasn't the only one with this ID problem. At least we can all suffer together (kumbaya, my lord, kumbaya....)

Remember that Family Guy episode of 'Stewie Loves Lois' where that dog runs off with Stewie's teddy bear Rupert and you see Stewie rocking back and forth with his eyes really wide? i sort of feel like him right now because i have 11 apps that need to be updated and i can't update them.

ahhh first world problems.

*looks at everything she just typed* yeah. i should really get sleep. night all! may our problem be fixed soon!!
