Folding on Graphics card in MBP
I have an early 2011 MBP, (2.2, 6750M).
I was wondering if there is anyway to fold natively on the graphics card? Especially with the new v7 client? Thanks |

Unfortunately not.
The openCL core_16 that is being trialled on Windows might one day make it over to OSX, but given previous track record, I wouldn't hold your breath. It might run in parallels etc, but I'm not sure they give enough direct access to the hardware. The older cores don't AFAIK. The i7 processor in that MBP will likely run circles around the mobility GPU anyways in the PPD and PPD/watt considerations. |
