I've just finished refurbing one of my basses today. I bought it a few years ago off a friend, it used to be long a mutual friend who plays in Skindred.
When I got it it was in a bit of a sorry state. Chunks out of the edge of the fretboard, lifting frets, the machine heads had been repositioned due to sheared off screws and the electronics had been ripped out and both pickups had been wired directly to a volume control and then out.

Due to the fretboard damage I defretted it shortly after getting it. Last month I decided to bring it back to a decent working condition. I ordered a 3 band preamp and new gold hardware. I finished putting it all together today.

It's a 95' Warwick Corvette Proline BTW

It still needs to be set up but it sounds bloody lovely. I shall post other instruments later...

Piano, tenor sax and guitar are my main instruments; I play the entire saxophone series, as well as the soprano, bass, and contrabass clarinet (the contra is unbelievable fun, I play for certain pieces in concert band). For guitars, I've got that Yamaha electric-acoustic, and a couple others are in the family. I've theorized that Yamaha instruments fit in well to that "Pizza is like sex; even when it's bad, it's still pretty good" analogy. The Yamaha guitar I have (as well as the digital piano and saxophone) were relatively reasonably priced, yet they're all terrific sounding instruments, and great to play too. Although, I'll admit - nothing is quite as much fun as my dad's 40 year old Epiphone to play.

I used to be a drummer but sold all of my equipment about 6 years ago when I went to college. I needed the cash, but still wish I had the kit.

Anyone play one of these?:

Instant respect if you do, looks like it requires a solid amount of skill.
