How bout a ride in my new Turbo? Got this in July when AAPL hit $400 for the first time. I once swore I'd buy a 360 Modena if AAPL hit 300. But I didn't. but now that it hit $400 I had to do something, so I did!

And actually today I'm commenting about it, because I didn't actually sell any shares, I just got a loan on my margin account against my AAPL shares. So that is working out good now! (for a while when it dropped to 350, I was slightly on the bad side of that load, but hell, AAPL is going up more than 5% per year to cover that interest!).

I'm selling covered calls on AAPL for OCT - something high up - just to grab a few grand, and if the price comes in, so what, I sell some and pay down the margin loan on the Porsche!

Haha, glass might be optional. Pull the cork and chuck it far away, and then go primal with that Scotch - it's the Isle peaty dirt flavoured stuff and once you have it in you, it tastes like water haha. Have some Sockeye salmon maybe, and then finish the bottle off on a drunken hike in the wilds and get some exercise!

OK, since I am now the amazing Kreskin and won my bet, here are some new predictions!

DOW 20K by 2012 - haha. OK maybe 2014. I'll make the betting prediction on New years, but that's how I'm thinking.

AAPL - let's say $450 by Jan 1 2012. That's pretty bold, I know. But the inflationary forces are helping.

I'm selling short term covered calls for my AAPL shares. Big premiums as it gets closer to the numbers I picked for Nov and Jan. A cool AAPL stipend 🙂

USD is "go to down" and the stock market is going to "crash" upwards with a sub-hyperinflationary ( >10% maybe) exclamation point.

Gold will be $2000.00 by Jan 1 2011.

Maybe I should be humble and just bite my toungue, but I'm glad you reminded me about this thread - I forgot all about it and it's funny what I wrote there! Maybe this is going to be too!

For sure AAPL 450 by Jan 2012 - the rest is more or less a matching theory, but that's a lot to predict at once, I'll just stick to what I know - Apple.

Gold is a little short of $2000.00, but it's close. DOW 20K for 2014 still on? I guess I have to stick with what I said. Time is a strange thing how it passes.

AAPL is over 450.

Now everyone thinks 600 is possible. Nobody is arguing with me about it.

I almost liked it more when I felt I knew something the suits didn't know. But now they can't miss it.

100 Billion in cash at Apple eh? If Apple has zero growth they will have $200B in cash within 5 years!

I think I'm getting a bit over-confident. The only thing that will mess me up a bit is some mega crash

I think over the last couple of years I have realized that the USD is KING - no matter what. I was thinking the USD would be crashing, it almost has to, but I guess since the entire world of currency is so messed up, the USD is going to remain the monopoly money of choice.

I didn't have my usual AAPL discussion with James's dad this Christmas. I think they are all tired of me being right all the time, and when I ask them how many AAPL shares they bought from my advice over the many many years, the answer is zero. I think they might be happier if I lose my shirt honestly haha.

Lets hear some more predictions.

Some major refreshes this year like the iPad 3 and iPhone 5 which shouldn't be minor upgrades like the iPhone 4s and iPad 2 which could potentially see a lot more people upgrade. Also the potential announcement of the iTV and maybe dividends.

As long as the economy doesn't tank again I can see:

Jan 2013 - $550
Jan 2014 - $650
 
If it hits $650, I'll sell half my shares and buy the Aston Martin I've always dreamed about. 😱 Or a Vette and a condo in Clearwater Beach. 😎
 
Oh wow, I can't believe that about two year ago, the Apple's stock was $250! *facepalm* why didn't I buy it back then? lol.
I guess it's never too late to buy one now, huh?

Hindsight’s a bitch hey... screw $250 why didn't you buy in a $28 back in 2000 or $4 in 97? I'm in the same boat and missed many opportunities. Supposably Facebook is valued at 100b with only 1b in profits last year so I don’t see Apple being overvalued at all.

You know, this is a horrible sign. When everyone is bullish, in many cases that's when it's time to sell.

Just like in March of 2009 when the overwhelming sentiment was that the markets could only go down. That was THE moment to get in and make a killing with a nearly 100% gain in the past 2 years (if you stuck with it...6,500-12,700.)

The markets are still loaded with bearish sentiment (Europe, the US economy...China slowdown...etc.) so there remains upside. But once everyone is convinced those problems are fixed and all out there are bullish, it won't be long before there is another big selloff. 🙁

I'm overall pretty bullish about APPL and the markets in general, but I think 20K by 2014 is way too high (and you seem to as well). I am thinking 14K-ish....maybe peaking at 15K sometime before a pullback.

APPL? I have no idea why it would happen, maybe supply problems or a natural disaster or a horrible iPad 3 and a horrible quarter that shakes investor confidence, but simply because everyone is bullish, I anticipate a significant pullback later this year. 🙁

EDIT TO ADD: I convince a friend to buy some shares of APPL back in '00 or thereabouts at nearly $10 a share. 🙂 Told him it would be the future of home movie making with the new iDVD and iMovie software. iPod and iTunes not even on my radar at the time.

Anyway, I'm sure iPad 3 will be good and all that.

I think a move by Apple to pay dividends or one-time shareholder bonus or do a share buyback is coming - but I'm not holding my breath for it.

There is much room for Apple to grow sales of iPhones.

I think the stock markets are in a super bullish state. Interest rates will be low for the next several years so where do you invest your money? Stocks is the answer. A bull market is inevitable. Absolutely Inevitable. This is why I predicted Dow 20K by 2014 or something like that. It's a huge move, and implies that lots of stocks will be shooting up sky high. But it could be really dangerous.

But the global stuff is confusing to me.

Just read some articles offering up great cases for a minimum $650 to over $1000 if iPad3 and iTV are hits.

...again...I haven't encountered much negative sentiment other than the Foxconn issues. Be wary when everyone is positive, it's a BAD sign.

One plausible road to a stock crash is the increasing price of gas: Seemingly every time the average price of a gallon of gas heads above $4 in the US, we see a downturn, simply because people cut back on their spending and companies cut back on their hiring due to higher costs for shipping, transportation and any materials related to crude oil such as plastics or even foodstuffs as harvesting, packaging and shipping food are very oil and gas-intensive practices.

IF gas prices rise another quarter, look out!
