Any way to ADD or REMOVE "EXPLICIT" tags in iTunes?
I buy all of my music through iTunes and some songs are just flat out mislabeled. Whether they be explicit without the tag or labeled explicit when they shouldn't be. Is there any way to add or delete the explicit tags in iTunes? I know you can turn ratings off, but that's not what I'm trying to do. Thanks in advance for any help.

I am being dense and can't figure this one out...
I see where the tag for None, Clean, or Explicit is, but when I change them all to none and save them, nothing happens. I got one to drop off, but it was an accident and I haven't been able to repeat. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

This is going to sound weird, but when I changed the tag and saved it nothing happened. So I highlighted the song and pull up the info (Command+I) and then then closed the info screen and it seemed to make the saved changes register which made the explicit label show up or go away depending on the change you made. Try that and see what happens.

iDevice Problem
It works excellent, but just in iTunes, because when you sync with an iDevice, the explicit tag won't show, and when you turn explicit content off from restrictions, the song is still there, any ideas of how to fix this?

I've posted a method (Unfortunately for Mac users, it is Windows only) that works without changing any other details about the tracks. 1. Download the file from: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?bcbi1rauoa666jj (~980kb), if it doesn't work, try this link:http://www.4shared.com/zip/NiTGDZRM/...tagging_s.html 2. Extract to a folder anywhere on your PC (you should be able to right click and extract if you're using Windows) 3. Navigate to the folder where you extracted the files and open it. Then OPEN the 'READ THIS.pdf' file and READ IT! It has all the remaining instructions (they are the same as those posted by user "benh911f" from MacRumors and user "ZL" from NeoSeeker). The stuff you need (scripts etc) are in the folder called "The Actual Contents" 4. Follow the instructions on the included .pdf file, and hey-presto! Tagging Complete :P 5. [OPTIONAL] If your tags do not show up in iTunes after you've tagged your songs as explicit/clean, RESTART YOUR PC. This will allow iTunes to "refresh/re-check/re-awesome-ize" its entire library's contents and show the tags. *** UPDATE *** 6. You will need to convert your MP3's to AAC's before you can edit their tags. iTunes has this feature built in (Right click on song(s)) Hope this helps ![]() - EclecticFrittle |

I made 4 automator scripts that you can attach to hotkeys which means you can just hit a keyboard shortcut to mark them.
Mac only and the tracks need to be AAC Automator files are here: http://www.everygeekblog.com/mark-it...ard-shortcuts/ Basically, download atomicparsley, extract it and put it somewhere you aren't going to move it. Put the automator scripts in the services folder (~/Library/Services) and edit them. To edit them, open all four and delete 'get specified finder items'. Than drag the atomic parsley (black icon with exec icon) to the top of the workflow. Save, set keyboard shortcuts in system preferences and you're good to go! |

I don't think it would take too much to do that. If you do a 'duplicate to' of my automator apps (the 'selection' ones) to an application you can drag an itunes selection.
I may have time to update it tomorrow or the day after. Right now I'm trying to remux mkv's lol. |

Sooo... I did manage to get a batch mark clean/explicit working.
It's a service so you can just select multiple tracks in iTunes, hit the shortcut and it will fix every single one of them. I'm a bit tired right now, but I'll get a video up and the files tomorrow. |

Updated with Growl goodness. Now you can select a whole bunch of tracks and you'll get a growl notification when it's finished so the metadata update works correctly.
